Teaching children how to give back

Little Loving Hands is helping us brighten the day of the homebound seniors we serve through our Grocery Plus program in Washington, DC. Through Grocery Plus, the CAFB provides healthy groceries every month to over 6,000 seniors.

Have you been wanting to have your kids learn more about community service and giving them hands on involvement in giving back, but have found limited opportunity? Little Loving Hands is a company that provides craft kits which teach children from the ages of 3-9 about the importance of helping other and allows them to learn about a new charity every month. This month their spotlight organization is the Capital Area Food Bank, the largest hunger and nutrition non-profit serving Washington and its Maryland and Virginia suburbs. Lily Yeh, the founder of Little Loving Hands and Kirsten Bourne, the Director of Marketing & Communications at the Capital Area Food Bank told us more.
