Report: Video shows Jerry Jones making racially-charged comments to fan
A new video published on The Blast shows Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones congratulating a fan on their wedding, seemingly joking her husband would be spending the night with a "black girl."
According to The Blast, the video was taken in 2013 in Dallas, Texas at the Warwick Hotel.
Looking at the camera, the footage shows Jones saying "Jenifer, congratulations on the wedding... now, you know he's with a black girl tonight don't you?"
He then walks away, laughing.
The Blast reports the fan he was recording the video for is white.
Jones apologized for the remarks on Friday in a statement obtained by The Blast. "It’s not who I am, and I’m sorry," Jones said. "That comment was inappropriate."
The celebrity news site claims the footage was only recently shared by the fan in light of the controversy in the National Football League over protests on the field during the National Anthem.
Jones faced some criticism because of the issue, after claiming he would bench players who refused to stand during the song's performance.
