It’s official. Georgetown clothing store Hu’s Wear will take over the space currently occupied by Bartleby’s Books, reports The Georgetown Dish. Owners Eric Eden and Marlene Hu Aldaba plan to turn the space on 1132 29th St. NW into a Mediterranean style restaurant. {}According to their liquor license application, the restaurant will serve “breakfast, lunch and dinner specialties to include homemade pastas, sauces, wood-grilled seafood and meats.” In a statement to GD last month, Eden says they’ve already lined up a chef. The restaurant will likely open next year.

Ganges Grill and Ice Cream has taken over the Quiznos at 3000 North Washington Blvd. in the Clarendon Center Building, reports ARLNow. The new store offers sandwiches, salads, and ice cream. Unfortunately, ARLNow’s post reveals that the shop has a few issues it needs to work on. {}Check out his thoughts here.

Washington, D.C., restaurants are participating in the Meatless Monday program, which encourages Americans to abstain from meat at least once a week. Several D.C.-area restaurants have responded by offering meatless options on their Monday menus, including Nage and Nora. (via ZagatBuzz)

Fast food fans: McDonald’s is offering free fries to their Twitter followers.

A new food truck could be rolling around the streets of Arlington next month, reports Food Truck Fiesta. Bada Bing plans to serve NYC cheese steaks and spiedie sandwiches. According to their Facebook page, owners Alfonso and Nicholas Terzella are “working on the finishing touches” for launch in October.Where are the food trucks parked today?
