A 'Black Panther' pop-up bar is coming to DC

WASHINGTON (WJLA) - The excitement for Marvel's "Black Panther" continues to build and now fans in D.C. can get even more immersed in the Wakandan experience.

A "Black Panther" pop-up bar is set to open from Thursday to Saturday, according to the event production business The Wave. The company says it will transform a black-owned bar on U Street NW with art, interactive set pieces, and special food and drinks that would likely make the movie's hero T'Challa feel right at home.

Guests will also get to experience a special DJ performance.

The pop-up bar will start up Thursday from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., the same night the movie is set to premiere. The film stars Chadwick Boseman in the titular role of the Marvel Comics superhero and king of the advanced fictional African nation Wakanda.

The pop-up bar will run Friday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. and Saturday from noon to 2 a.m. Click here for more information on the event and here to find tickets.
