Teen charged in shooting that left woman dead, boy wounded at Frederick home

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a shooting that left a woman dead and a boy wounded at a Frederick home.

Ean Lanell Davis-Lattimore, of Frederick, was taken into custody shortly before 9 a.m. Sunday and charged as an adult with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder, second-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault and second-degree assault.

Frederick Police said they were called to a home in the the 1800 block of Weybridge Road around 1:46 a.m. Sunday, where they found a woman shot in the upper body and a boy shot in the lower leg.

Both police and medical crews tried to treat the woman, identified as Genesis Marie McCarter-Berretto, of Gaithersburg, but she died at the scene.

The boy was taken to a trauma center with non-life threatening injuries, officials said. His identity will not be given due to his age.

Investigators said they do not think the shooting is a domestic-related incident at this time.
