WASHINGTON (WJLA) — Redskins safety Montae Nicholson has been charged with assault and battery after a dispute in Ashburn, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
The incident happened in the predawn hours of Tuesday morning.
According to a police report, deputies responded to the 20400 block of Exchange Street at One Loudoun for a report of a fight. They found two victims, a man and a woman who were reportedly assaulted by another man and woman, identified as Nicholson and 24-year-old Sydney A. Maggiore of Vienna.
Investigators say Nicholson assaulted the male victim, and that Maggiore hit the female victim with a bottle before also assaulting the male victim.
One of the victims told police that this happened after Nicholson and Maggiore pulled up in a vehicle and honked the horn at them. There was a verbal altercation before the physical assault occurred.
As deputies were on scene, the suspects returned to the area and were taken into custody.
Nicholson was charged with assault and battery and being drunk in public. Nicholson was held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on a $2,500 secured bond. Maggiore was charged with malicious wounding and assault and battery. She remains held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center on no bond.
Both victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
