A 21-year-old Rockville man was arrested Thursday in connection with a 2015 homicide that had ties with the MS-13 gang, authorities said.

Police say Jose Elias Ayala-Gomes was arrested by Montgomery County Police as part of an investigation into the death of 19-year-old Guillermo Hernandez Leyva after police found his body in the 14300 block of Westminister Lane in Woodbridge on September 29, 2015.

Authorities say they believe both the victim and the suspects had ties with MS-13.

Five people were also arrested in August 2017 in connection with the homicide and were located in Maryland, Indiana, New Jersey and Texas, according to police.
