The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office is offering a reward for information on the murder of a mother and son found shot to death inside their Aldie, Virginia home early Thursday morning.

The sheriff's office announced that a reward was being offered on Saturday.

The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office said they were called to scene in the 25000 block of Tomey Court at around 2 a.m. after someone said their co-worker who lived there had not been at work all week.

Deputies said they checked the worker's home and found the bodies of the mother and son suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

ABC7's Rich Reeve reported police are investigating the double shooting as possibly being related to "potential criminal activity" going on in the home.

Investigators have not released a time of death or whether there are one or more suspects at this time, but they do say they believe the victims were targeted.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office at 703-777-0475.
