Maryland volleyball coach charged with sexually abusing girl in 2 counties

    A volleyball coach in Maryland has been charged with sexually abusing a girl.

    Forty-six-year-old Marc Stephen Moore, of Upper Marlboro, was arrested and charged Tuesday with multiple counts of sex abuse of a minor, solicitation of a minor, fourth-degree sex offenses, and distribution and possession of child pornography.

    The 16-year-old girl told police she was sexually abused by Moore in both counties.

    In Howard County, she said she was inappropriately touched by Moore in a private room at the Maryland Junior Sports Center, in Jessup, where he was a volleyball coach. She told police that Moore had her take nude pictures of herself of which he then took possession.

    In Anne Arundel County, the girl said similar acts committed by Moore took place at a residence.

    Moore was taken into custody by Howard County police. He is being held without bond at the Howard County Detention Center.
