Police: Man finds daughter dead in basement of Severn home in ‘targeted incident’
SEVERN, Md. (ABC7) —
Anne Arundel County police said a man found his daughter dead Wednesday morning in the basement of her home in an apparent homicide they believe was a “targeted incident.”
Police said the victim was found dead inside her home in the 1800 block of Hawk Court in Severn when officers responded around 11:24 a.m. for a reported suspicious death.
According to police, homicide detectives found the victim suffering from trauma to her upper body. In an autopsy completed Thursday by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, it was ruled the victim’s cause of death was numerous sharp force injuries to the upper body.
Police identified the decedent as 29-year-old Jasmine Sherel Adams.
A preliminary investigation suggested that Adam’s death was not a random act of violence and rather a "targeted incident.”
