Ray Knight, a former Major League Baseball player, manager and current TV analyst for the Mid-Atlantic Sports Network (MASN), was charged by police for allegedly assaulting another man during an argument on Sunday in Alexandria, Virginia.

The 33-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries and Knight was treated for his injuries at an area hospital.

Authorities later charged Knight with assault and battery.

Fairfax County Police say an argument between the men became physical at Knight's Alexandria home in the 7500 block of Ashby Lane.

Police say he was released from an Adult Detention Center and has a court date scheduled for Jan. 8, 2018.

Knight played for several major league baseball teams including the Cincinnati Reds and New York Mets. He's currently a broadcaster for "Nats Xtra" on MASN.
