President Trump gave his long-awaited State of the Union address earlier this week. I caught up with Kimberly Guilfoyle Vice Chairwoman of America First Action a key outside group that supports the president. Kimberly is also a close friend of the Trump family and she attended the address. Here’s what we discussed:

GUILFOYLE: I really felt that I was drawn into that sort of majesty of the experience where everybody was coming together. It really had a nice thread of a bipartisan feel, so many things in terms of the accomplishments. How could you not stand and applaud and clap for all of the things like record low unemployment 5.4 million jobs created over 300,000 just in the last month. It's really incredible because it's the Trump economy and America is back at work and he made a promise to the working men and women in this country that they would not be forgotten, and he has honored and exceeded that promise.

BORIS: There was a pretty uniting issue after the address of approval for the speech talk to me a little about. You’ve seen the numbers that what are you seeing out there?

GUILFOYLE: Yes, and we were getting some of those, you know, flash polls very quickly and CBS in particular, as you know, 97 percent of Republicans approved the president's speech. You had 82 percent of independents. Wow. That is a tremendous accomplishment for this president. Thirty percent of Democrats, you know, an overall overall, the number that really stood out to was 76 percent of everybody combined said that they thought the speech was excellent.

Here’s the bottom line: I do not think that there’s another politician in America who could’ve gotten both sides of the aisle to stand, cheer, and chant “U.S.A” like Donald Trump did at the State of the Union address.

Let’s hope that there’s some unity in our government going forward.
