The suicide risk in eating disorders

At least 30 million people of all ages and genders suffer from an eating disorder in the U.S., making it the highest mortality rate of mental illness. Research shows that those who suffer from anorexia, bulimia and other eating disorders are more likely to suffer from suicidal thoughts. September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, and we spoke with the co-director at The Center for Eating Disorders Sheppard Pratt about the relationship between suicide and eating disorders, as well as the National Suicide Prevention Hotline Improvement Act.
