The fight to fund Down syndrome research

While down syndrome is among the most frequent chromosomal conditions – affecting an estimated 400,000 Americans – it remains one of the least-funded conditions by the National Institutes of Health. On Thursday, the Global Down Syndrome Foundation will host its Acceptability Gala to raise much-needed funds, and president and CEO Michelle See Whitten joined gala ambassador Frank Stephens to discuss their mission.
