While costumes and candy get most of the Halloween love, there’s plenty of creepy crawly fun to be had before the tricks and treats. Carolina King of Mama Instincts shared creepy, spooky and all-together ooky activities for the whole family

Sensory bag with googly eyes

  • 1 large ziplock bag
  • hand soap or shaving foam
  • googly eyes
  • green food coloring (optional)

Witches brew

  • 1/2 cup baking soda
  • 1/2 cup citric acid
  • Food dye
  • Water
  • Squirt bottle
  • Glitter
  • Small toys

Sensory rice with spiders

  • 3 cups of rice
  • 3 teaspoons of vinegar
  • food coloring
  • essential oils to mask vinegar scent
  • spiders or other Halloween themed creatures

Pumpkin slime with creepy crawlers

  • Pumpkin
  • 1 glue (5 oz)
  • 5 oz water
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon contact lens solution
  • pumpkin seeds
  • worm toys
  • Food coloring (optional)
  • Glitter (optional)
