"SO CHEER, Cheer for Special Olympics, is a sideline cheer program for cheerleaders with and without intellectual disabilities. It is a self-funded group created for unified and special needs cheer teams in the United States and around the globe. SO CHEER’s purpose is to attend Special Olympics sports competitions and events at the state, national, and global level to cheer on the athletes competing in various sports and energize the fans. SO CHEER’s mission is to demonstrate our cheerleaders skills and abilities, raise awareness about Special Olympics, and spread CHEER. The cheerleaders provide a meaningful and memorable experience for Special Olympics athletes and fans." -
