WILTON MANORS, Fla. (WPEC) — A porn actor from Florida is making a run for local office.

Juan Melecio, who uses the stage name Antonio Biaggi, is running for a commission seat in Wilton Manors.

"I’m from Puerto Rico and I’m a very passionate person," Melecio said in an interview with the Sun-Sentinel. "When something is right I just go for it.”

Melecio, who is openly gay, described Wilton Manors as the "Second Gayest City in America." He told the newspaper one of his goals is to make the city more inclusive for all residents, not just those who are gay.

"We should have more festivals, not just Gay Pride," he said.

In addition to his acting adventures, Melecio also owned a barbershop and spa in the city that he sold in 2019.
