Monday marked a hopeful day as the District, Maryland, and Virginia COVID-19 numbers showed the lowest number of new cases and deaths for the D.M.V region in ten weeks.

331 new positive cases were recorded in Maryland, 357 were recorded in Virginia, 32 were recorded in the District, bringing a total of 720 newly confirmed cases in the region.
These new numbers are the lowest the area has seen since April 2, when there were 635 new cases reported.
Health officials reported 12 additional coronavirus deaths as well, which is the lowest amount since March 31 when five deaths were reported.
There were no reported deaths out of the District, and six deaths were reported in Virginia and six deaths were reported in Maryland.
