The coldest air of the season arrives Tuesday on the heels of an arctic cold front.
Spotty light showers of rain and snow this morning will do no more than wet the roadways. Yes, some grassy areas or rooftops could see a light coating, but that is all I anticipate.
The bigger impact of the front will be the intense chill, accompanied by temperatures in the 40s and wind chills in the upper 20s to low 30s. A few wind-swept flurries are possible through the afternoon with clearing skies and blustery conditions.
The coldest of the cold air arrives tomorrow night with overnight lows in the 20s even downtown; temps in the teens are even possible in the suburbs. Plenty of sunshine on tap for Wednesday with continued brisk air and low 40s anticipated again.
A moderating trend commences late-week with low 50s Thursday and upper 50s for Friday. Have a great day!
