Quiet and dry conditions will prevail overnight as temperatures drop into the 30s in the mountains and lower 40s inside the Beltway. Areas of frost are likely north and west of D.C., but no advisories, watches or warnings this time around since the growing season has come to an end.

Sunny skies and comfortable temperatures start the new work and school week with highs in the 60s. Trends indicate a warm front will lift just north of Washington on Wednesday giving a slight chance for a few showers. A warmer and juicier air mass will be overhead Thursday (Halloween Day) and anticipation is growing for a strong cold front by Friday. This front may trigger thunderstorms with gusty winds and frequent lightning.
