Getting much hotter right now and you can definitely feel the much higher humidity that's made a return to the region. Another strong cold front is on its way, and out ahead of it are a number of severe storms ALSO headed our way. A number of TORNADO WATCHES have already been issued for parts of the Midwest and the Ohio Valley. I expect the Washington Region to also be placed under a TORNADO WATCH some time by this evening.ABC7 Weather Team
Right now, the timing of these storms looks to arrive somewhere by the 7P - 10P hour around the D.C. metro tonight. Strong winds over 60 mph, large hail over one inch, and isolated tornadoes will be possible. The ABC7 Weather Team will keep you covered of any severe threat that comes your way through tonight on News Channel 8 and ABC7.
After tonight's storms, a brisk wind picks up on Monday where temperatures will remain warm, but humidity levels will drop significantly. An isolated shower/thundershower or two is also possible in the heat of the late afternoon/early evening time frame. Look for much cooler weather to drop in for the majority of the week, once again, with high temperatures nearly 10° under the average for the time of the year, and some more possible record low temperatures to begin Tuesday and Wednesday mornings!
Until then, stay with the Stormwatch7 weather team for the latest weather updates.
