A slow moving area of low pressure continues to creep northward towards the mid-Atlantic coast. High pressure anchored off the New England Coast will interact with the low pressure circulation to increase wind speeds throughout the region.Rain will be developing and as long as the coastal system hangs around, the chance of rain will continue.
Right now, it appears the steadiest rain and gustiest winds will occur on Thursday. Computer models continue to show the potential for the heaviest rain to be just east of Washington. Periods of light rain or showers are expected to continue on Friday. The weekend forecast is quite unsettled. The reason, of course, is the coastal low. When it departs, skies will clear. That might happen late Saturday or early Sunday or later Sunday. See why I am calling the weekend unsettled?
