Dulles also set record low high temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday with highs of 33 degrees. High pressure will bring in mostly sunshine today, but it will shift off the Atlantic Coast and bring a few afternoon clouds.{} Winds from the south on the 'backside' of this high means D.C. will be about ten degrees warmer than yesterday, but still below average. The average high is 60 degrees, if you're keeping track at home.

A cold front in the Midwest will head to the Mid-Atlantic tomorrow. Showers are expected by midday. Keep the umbrella handy on Saturday, as low pressure develops on the tail end of the front and spreads rain into the region again. It could linger into Sunday morning, but we expect the majority of the day to be dry. If you're a fan of the sky and space, perhaps you've noticed Venus in the sky next to the waning crescent moon the past few mornings in the east sky.
