Washington, D.C. Weather Forecast: Quick Hitting Snow Overnight, then Warmer

Don't be fooled by our chilly Monday, as a big time warm up will invade the D.C. region for the rest of the week that will melt all of our snow pack.{ } Before we get there, we will add a touch to our snow cover overnight and early Tuesday.{ } Cold air in place will allow it to stick.{ } A weak and fast moving system in the Midwest, will arrive around midnight or so.{ }

Futurecast Tonight

Areas west of D.C. could pick up a couple of inches, with near an inch in D.C.{ } Some mixing of wintry weather is likely in D.C. and areas southeast. Those spots will have little to none. More in Eileen's blog.{ } After the quick hit of winter, we start the warm up.{ } Temperatures will be near seasonal averages Tuesday in the mid to upper 40s. And we'll flip the pattern with highs well above average to end the week and a few spots could reach 60.{ }
