As high pressure moves away from the mid-Atlantic, clouds will increase overnight and{} temperatures will sink to the 30s. Skies turn mostly cloudy tomorrow tomorrow as cold front approaches from the north and west. Ahead of the front, temperatures will rebound into the 50s.

The cold front will stall just to our south and an area of low pressure originating from the Gulf of Mexico will ride the front bringing light rain by evening. From Sunday night and into Monday, temperatures will be critical as to where a rain snow boundary forms. Bands of heavy rain or snow are likely, especially north and west of the District. Some of the ABC 7 News viewing area has been placed under a Winter Storm Watch starting Sunday night and extending into Monday. The latest warned areas can be found here. Plan ahead for delays and cancellations Monday morning. Most of the messy weather should be gone by late afternoon.

Another area of low pressure will arrive late Tuesday and into Wednesday, although this time we will be on the warmer side of things, freezing rain is possible in the far reaching northern and western suburbs before changing to all rain. I'll keep you updated all weekend as the forecast is tweaked.
