Look for a wide temperature spread overnight ranging from the lower 20s to upper 30s. Clouds will increase ahead of a strong arctic cold front. It is poised to push across the mid-Atlantic Monday allowing for temperatures to plunge during the afternoon hours. Winds will increase and flurries are possible.

Temperatures Monday night and early Tuesday morning will be in the single digits with wind chills making it feel at least ten degrees colder. At this time, it appears skies will be sunny on Tuesday with highs will only in the teens. If you have travel plans to South Carolina or Georgia, snow and ice may bring extensive travel delays. It should be noted if this system shifts to the north, the forecast for our area would likely change.

Arctic high pressure slowly releases its grip by the middle of the week allowing for milder temperatures to return for the weekend.
