WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY in effect until 6 am Wednesday for Anne Arundel, Prince Georges, Calvert, Charles and St. Mary’s Counties in MD and for Stafford, Spotsylvania and King George Counties in VA and the entire Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula
This time around, areas south and east of Washington are likely to see some snow accumulation while areas north and west of Washing see a dusting or only flurries, if that. A strong upper level disturbance is bringing snow to the area tonight. An area of low pressure will develop along the coast but will be too far away to affect our area but it will enhance snowfall across Southeastern VA and the Lower Eastern Shore. Snowfall potential with this system will range between 1 to 3 inches in the areas under advisories. And the northern part of the area will be closer to 1 inch while the southern parts of the advisory area may see 2 to 3 inches. Clearing skies and breezy conditions highlight our Wednesday forecast with a slight warming trend Thursday through Sunday.
