The core of the strong, mid-winter style area of high pressure that created the high winds and dramatically colder temperatures will move out of the region tomorrow allowing a rapid and impressive warm-up into the upper 50s. Under partly sunny skies on Saturday, temperatures may reach 60 degrees. A cold front will cross the area Saturday night. This will lead to a mostly cloudy and somewhat colder day on Sunday.
An area of low pressure will pass south and southeast of the Washington area late Sunday and through the day on Monday. This system could bring some rain to the region later Sunday...and depending on the storm’s strength and track could bring rain and/or snow to many parts of the area on Monday.
