High pressure has returned to the area and provided a cold but pleasant day with one more to follow tomorrow. On Saturday, a wave of low pressure will move south of our region and may develop into an organized area of low pressure, once it is over the Atlantic Ocean, But that development will be too far away to have much of an effect on this area.
During the day on Sunday, another small disturbance could affect the region. But it will have limited moisture to work with. Add to that discussion, the fact that medium range computer models have varying solutions and effects, we believe it will be mostly cloudy and cold during the weekend with only about a 30% chance of seeing a few areas of light snow or passing snow showers, The first opportunity would during the daylight hours of Saturday and then later Sunday afternoon or evening. We do not see any evidence of a “winter storm” for this area, this weekend.
