Ick! A dreary day out there today with showers and thunderstorms, temperatures in the lower 80s and humidity in the forecast. Round 1 happened overnight and through this morning.{ } Breaks in the cloud cover expected through the afternoon before round 2 of rain showers and storms begin. A cold front will near the region through today and pass through this evening. This will up our ante for showers and thunderstorms through the afternoon and evening hours. Everything should be wrapping up and out of the region by 9PM. With the humid airmass (plus any additional sunshine that pops up) leads to greater instability meaning some of these storms could be heavy rain makers. We have to monitor for a potential flash flood risk this afternoon. Rapid clearing will take place behind the front. High pressure builds in overnight tonight through the day tomorrow creating much nicer conditions for Friday. Highs will make it into the mid 80s for Friday with lower humidity levels and plenty of sunshine. Saturday will feature a few more clouds as high pressure slip off the coast and just a touch more of humidity. The chance of showers and storms will increase as we head through the evening hours (and even lingering into the overnight/early Sunday morning hours) with yet another cold front passing through the area Saturday night into Sunday AM. Sunday will clear on out and temperatures drop into the mid 80s. Sunday through at least Tuesday early afternoon will feature dry conditions.
