A Flash Flood Watch is in effect through this evening for the entire listening and Flood Warnings are in effect for the majority of the D.C. area through at least noon. Areas of rain will be likely through the morning with temperatures in the 70s gradually creeping towards the 80 degree mark through the day. The heaviest rain has already fallen with up to 4 or even 5 inches noted in some areas. Showers will continue through the morning{ } but will not be as heavy as they have been overnight and the heaviest will be east of the city. Areas will begin to dry out through the mid morning hours but shower and thunderstorm chances will remain through the afternoon and evening as an upper-level disturbance spins to the west over West Virginia. Tonight, a few showers will continue to be possible with lows in the 60s to lower 70s. Saturday will feature a chance for a few showers but otherwise partly sunny skies with highs in the mid 80s. Sunday will dry out and heat up with partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies overhead and temperatures back around 90 degrees. Looking ahead to next week, temperatures hang around 90 degrees or higher through the week.
