Excessive Heat Warning in effect from Noon to 8pm for D.C., Alexandria, Arlington and Falls Church

Heat Advisory along and east of the Blue Ridge from Noon to 8pm

High heat and humidity will again be a dangerous combination today with heat index values approaching 110 degrees in the city and well over 100 degrees through the rest of the region this afternoon. A few afternoon storms will again be possible and should be slow movers with heavy rain possible along with dangerous lightning. Tonight, a few storms will linger but otherwise expect partly cloudy skies with lows in the 70s to near 80 degrees.

Saturday will feature highs in the mid 90s and a better chance for storms by the afternoon and evening. A few storms may be severe with damaging winds. Sunday, the frontal boundary will be hanging around close to the region but at this point I would think the majority of the precipitation will be south of D.C. Temperatures will be cooler in the upper 80s under partly sunny skies. A few isolated showers or storms will still be possible.
