Washington D.C. Forecast: Changes keeping rain in the near future

This Afternoon:Partly Sunny, PM T-Showers Highs: Mid to Upper 80s Precipitation: 50% Tonight:Mostly Cloudy, Areas of Rain Lows: Around 70 Precipitation: 70% Friday:Morning Rain, Mostly Cloudy and Cooler Highs: Around 80 Precipitation: 70% Mainly AM

I haven't seen this kind of a set up in the atmosphere in July that I can remember. A cold front moved through the region this morning and lies to the east. It is expected to stall there and another upper-level disturbance will track into the region tonight and tomorrow morning. As this feature reaches West Virginia it will basically stop and spin, leaving our region with rain chances throughout the day tomorrow. The reason for the change is because this feature has basically cut off from the main trough, as we were depicting it being into the Northeast instead of over West Virginia. Basically, tomorrow will not be as nice as we originally thought.

Main energy was forecast to be in the Northeast tomorrow, now cuts off in WV

Ok, tomorrow is a work day for most, so what about the weekend? Right now, improvements are expected for Saturday and the heat will return Sunday. Partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies are expected Saturday with highs in the mid 80s. Sunday will feature mostly sunny skies and hot temperatures near 90 degrees. High pressure should hold on to the region through early next week allowing for hot and humid conditions.
