Mild today but much cooler temperatures are around the corner

Thursday:{ } Partly Sunny; Few PM Showers/Storms

Highs: Around 80 | Wind: W 5-10

Overnight: Partly Cloudy

Lows: Mid 50s To Around 60 | Wind: W 5-10

Friday: Partly Sunny & Breezy Turning Cooler

Highs: Mid 70s | Wind: WSW 10-15

The weather pattern that has been in place for nearly 10 days now will begin to break down, transitioning into a colder and Fall-like set-up. A frontal boundary in combination with some upper level energy will be enough to support a few showers and a couple of storms as we head into the early afternoon hours. Drier air will also being to filter into the region later today and into the overnight. This drier air in combination with westerly winds at 5-10mph should keep fog from developing overnight. Friday will be a transition day for us featuring partly sunny skies, breezy winds and cooler daytime highs in the mid-70s. There is a slight chance of an isolated shower Friday but I feel it will be mainly west of the Blue Ridge. Saturday cold and dry Canadian air will begin to settle into the region and this cold air along with some upper level energy look to support more clouds than sunshine Saturday with a chance of scattered showers. Temperatures will struggle to make into the upper 50s to around 60 degrees and when coupled with gusty winds it will feel like we are only in the low 50s at times. More sunshine will mix in Sunday however winds will remain elevated and daytime highs will only reach into the low 60s.

~ Have a good day!
