Geminid meteor shower 2013 to take place Friday night, Saturday morning
(WJLA) - The Geminid meteor shower, which is regarded by space watchers as one of the best of the year, will put on a show in the sky on Friday night.
According to Space.com, the Geminids will reach their peak in the overnight hours between Friday and Saturday, and without a glare from the moon, it should be widely visible to the naked eye.
Experts say that the shower should start to ramp up by about 10 p.m. and can be seen with the naked eye, though getting away from light pollution will help you get the best view.
If you don't feel like braving tonight's cold weather to see the meteor shower, it can be watched online at NASA.gov.
