      The major winter storm is now in eastern Kentucky with a secondary storm starting to form in South Carolina.{} Look at the extent of the storm.{}{}

      The storm gave us our first real taste of snow early this morning before temperatures rose above freezing in the metro are and now just a cold rain washing away the snow.{} A different story well west and north of D.C., where sleet and snow continues especially western Maryland.{} Look at Keyser's Ridge in western Maryland.{}{}

      The storm rapidly moves to our north this evening and then some cold winds come in for the next couple of days.{}

      It'll be just wet in the D.C. area later Wednesday night, but by late tonight some freezing and wet areas will sure be icy spots.
