With the{ }thermometer fllrting with the freezing point,{ }a mix of rain and freezing rain complicated some travel this morning.{ }{ }But with temperatures now well above freezing, all of the earlier Winter Weather Advisories have expired and most of the showers associated with a coastal low are well to our east.{ } The onshore flow of warmer air will keep most of the DC area in the clouds this afternoon with{ }some lingering fog and drizzle.{ } But the quick{ }movement of the low{ }to the northeast will make for some{ }late day clearing, especially to the west of the Appalachians.{ }{ }High temperatures should reach the low 40s here, but could rise to near 50 in the far western regions.

Sunday looks to be a far better day with high pressure and sunshine returning. { }After a{ }cloudy start, the winds will turn breezy out of the northwest gusting to 20 mph and highs should top out near 50.{ }{ }

NOTE: Mother Nature continues to be parsimonious with our precipitation{ }as our seasonal snowfall tally is{ }a mere 1.5", a whopping 11.7" below normal.{ } WIth just{ }piddling amounts{ }of rain as well - we're already down 1.4" for the year{ }{ }and got less than one-tenth of an inch this morning{ }{ }- even the current drizzle is appreciated.{ } Even on the weekend!{ } Enjoy your Saturday.{ }
