Mother Nature is going to really pile on the heat and humidity over the next couple of days and even into the weekend before there are signs that this latest heat wave may come to an end. Today and tomorrow the entire region is under an Excessive Heat Warning which means that a prolonged period of dangerously hot temperatures will occur. The combination of the high heat and humidity will create a dangerous situation where heat illnesses are likely. The heat index, or how hot it feels outside, will be between 105 and up to 115 degrees. A couple of isolated showers or storms can’t be ruled out tomorrow and Saturday but slightly higher rain chances come into play by Sunday and Monday as a cold front pushes into the region. Temperatures will gradually fall back to or around seasonable levels by early next week.
~ Stay safe and cool!
