Precip will begin to reach the D.C. area Tuesday night. Mostly snow with some rain mixed in out towards the Shenandoah Valley- mostly rain with some snow mixed in around the DC region. The areas that will see rain/snow mix will make for some tricky snow totals forecastingie: DC area. Out towards the Valley, it looks as if snow remains pretty consistent precip type through the duration of the event. Still a lot of uncertainty concerning snow totals but it looks like Shenandoah Valley and Eastern Panhandle of WV will see the highest in terms of totals. It will also be fairly windy during the event and on Thursday during the day as well so some power outages will be{}unfortunately widespread.
