Rain is beginning to enter the Shenandoah Valley and will continue to move towards the D.C. Metro by the evening part of the commute. Temperatures in the 50s and 60s will fall quickly into the 40s as these showers enter. Tonight, some of the rain may change over to light snow with some light accumulations on grassy surfaces and cars. Be sure to take it{ }slow on elevated surfaces like bridges and overpasses late tonight through tomorrow morning.{ }

Saturday will feature low pressure developing to the south and east and tracking up the east coast which will keep the D.C. area mostly cloudy and cold. Snow will develop with the low and at this time we think snow showers will be possible through the day south and east of D.C. mainly for Southern Maryland and Eastern Shore. A dusting will be possible in Southern Maryland and possibly more along the Eastern Shore but no accumulations are expected in the D.C. area with the potential of a trace.

Sunday will be cold with highs in the low to mid 30s and gusty winds out of the northwest making it feel like the teens. President's Day Monday will feature mostly sunny skies and cool temperatures around 40 degrees. The next system will bring rain into the area on Tuesday.
