THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS EXTENDED THE FLOOD WARNING FOR SMALL STREAMS until 8:45 TONIGHT IN GREENE, ORANGE, CULPEPER, FAUQUIER, MADISON AND PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTIES.

Small stream flooding caused by the heavy rain that accompanied the cold front as it passed through the area today prompted the flood warnings in several rural Virginia counties. Skies will clear tonight and temperatures will fall through the 30s to near 40 degrees in downtown Washington. Tomorrow will be partly to mostly cloudy and breezy and a few sprinkles or passing showers will be possible. Breezy, drier and colder conditions are in our Thursday forecast. Highs will only be in the 40s and the gusty winds will keep wind chills in the 30s all day. By Friday, temperatures will rebound to the 50 degree mark with lighter winds.
