A chilly weekend for early March.{ } High today 46° but one year ago{ } our high temperature was 70°.{ } Northwest winds keep us chilly this weekend.{ } By early next week it does look like a storm will be forming in the Southern Plains and moving toward the southeast coast.{ } It is still too early to say with confidence how any storm will impact the Washington area.{ }{ }Look at this{ }

{ }

This is the latest simulation showing a storm near the Virginia, NorthCarolina coast Wednesday morning.{ } But this is the ensemble and the dark blue area around Washington means that's an area with the largest uncertainty of what the air pressure will be Wednesday.{ } Or also where the highest uncertainty of where the storm center might be.{ } I do think with the pattern we have had the past few months, were storms to our south tend to move rapidly east and stay south, right now the risk of a "major" storm on Wednesday is small.{ }{ }As we say, "Stay Tuned" :{>})
