Today may be the most comfortable day of the week due to northwesterly winds that will keep the air drier than recent days. There will also be another chance for thunderstorms this afternoon, especially south of Washington. Over the{ }next several few days it will be like living in Florida with daily thunderstorms popping up and no way of knowing in advance, exactly where those storms will form. High temperatures will be in th 90s and higher humidity levels will return during the week.

Looking ahead to the Fourth of July, it will be partly cloudy, hot and humid and there will a 40% chance of afternoon thunderstorms. There is a better than 50/50 chance of storms ending before fireworks time.

Looking even further ahead, high temperatures in the 90s will continue through Sunday and maybe a bit longer before we see a break in the string. Our average high is now 88 degrees, so 90 degree highs are pretty common this time of year.
