A heat advisory will be in effect later today when temperatures head back to the triple digit mark, and cities around the region are gearing up for another day of sweltering heat.
The city of Frederick says it's opening a cooling center to help residents cope with the hot weather.
The cooling center at 100 South Market Street will be open Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The city also says the hot weather has prompted Potomac Edison to cancel some maintenance work that would have caused a power outage late Sunday and early Monday in parts of the downtown area.
In the above video, ABC7's Jummy Olabanji has more ways people around the region are coping with the heat.
