Areas of dense fog are still making travel difficult this morning, but{ }{ }visibilities{ }are improving.{ } The earlier{ }Dense Fog Advisory was cancelled shortly after 10 AM.{ } Even as the fog erodes, high clouds will keep most of the day overcast with just limited periods of sunshine. Highs today should reach the mid 50s.

A cold front is poised to move through later this evening with the possibility of a few showers.{ }After yet another morning of patchy fog, Monday will feature a southerly flow that should warm the DC area into the mid 60s.{ } Yet more unseasonable warmth is likely on Tuesday before yet another front brings the chance of rain and somewhat cooler readings on Wednesday.{ } Thereafter, lower dewpoints and chillier air will see us through the end of the week.{ } Enjoy your Sunday!

NOTE: The silent arrival of this morning's fog{ }recalls Carl Sandburg's poetic description of fog. "The fog comes on little cat feet.{ } It sits looking over harbor and city on silent haunches and then moves on."
