High pressure pushing in from the Midwest will keep the pleasant weather around today. Expect temperatures in the 80s with continued low humidity levels. Overnight lows slip back into the 60s for one more refreshing night. By Saturday morning, the center of high pressure will move off the east coast and southerly winds will draw up more humidity, leading to more clouds and that chance of isolated showers/storms by afternoon.
As a cold front slowly crawls eastward, the threat of showers and storms will increase Saturday night and Sunday. Areas of heavy rain are likely, as well, as the threat for some strong to severe storms. The Storm Prediction Center had the area under a slight risk for severe weather. The cold front will slowly push through late Sunday with models now advertising lingering clouds and showers in its wake early next week. In the meantime, enjoy the great weather and have a great weekend!
