The persistent cloud cover slowly eroded during the day under the influence of a building area of low pressure. Skies will be mostly clear tonight but with light southerly winds temperatures will remain about average for early January. Significamtly warmer than average temperatures will develop tomorrow and Saturday. A cold front will cross the area late Saturday. No rain and very little cloudiness is expected with the frontal passage. On Sunday and Monday, as a new area of high pressure returns to the region skies will remain partly cloudy and while high temperatures will drop to the upper 40s…..those values are still above average for this time of year. The next weather event we are discussing a possible storm cemter that could affect the mid-Atlantic area on Wednesday. All indications are that temperatures will be well above average and therefore any precipitation that falls wil be RAIN.
