Cold temperatures are expected today with highs{ }around the 40 degree mark under mostly cloudy skies. Tonight, low pressure will move up the east coast and move north into the Atlantic, bringing with it the chance for some light rain or possibly a light mix in the northwestern suburbs. At this point in time, it appears anything that falls should be light, so we're not expecting big problems for tomorrow mornings commute. Lows will fall into the 30s, but the majority of the area should stay at or above freezing.

Friday will be cloudy with light rain in the morning, then cloudy and becoming windy in the afternoon. A few light snow showers may possibly wrap around the low by Friday afternoon and evening but little no accumulations are expected. Winds will also increase through the afternoon as the low intensifies to the north and east with winds around 10-20 mph with higher gusts.

The weekend ahead will feature partly cloudy to mostly sunny skies with gusty winds and colder temperatures in the upper 30s to near 40 degrees. Sunday will be a touch milder under mostly sunny skies with high temperatures back in the upper 40s.
