An area of low pressure is passing well northwest of our area but close enough to produce widespread cloudiness and areas of mostly light rain. As the rain ends tonight, a warm front will slowly advance northward towards our area. This will produce widespread fog. Some of the fog will be locally dense.
Dense Fog Advisories have been issued for SW Virginia and may be extended northeast to include some parts of our service area. South to southeast winds will keep humidity levels high but in time, they will transport in unseasonably warm air. We expect to see fog tomorrow morning following by partial clearing. Temperatures will reach close to 60s across the region. Temperatures will become warmer the farther south you are from Washington.
On Sunday, with some sunshine, temperatures are forecast to rise into the upper 60s…a good 25 degrees above average. The exceptionally mild temperatures will continue on Monday. But rain is a good possibility by Monday afternoon as a slow moving cold front approaches. Our little spring fling will end on Wednesday as high temperatures will barely reach the lower 40s.
