The mid-summer heat we are experiencing today will be a one day event. A cold front will pass through the region tonight. It appears the front will only produce a few clouds and a wind shift and not any train…rain we so badly need. The front will pass well south of the region over the next 48 hours. On Wednesday, a small area of low pressure may develop along that boundary and we have included a 30% chance of showers on Wednesday as a result. But showers are expected to be light and widely scattered. High pressure will return for Thursday and Friday and produce partly cloudy skies with highs in the 70s. Computer models have been consistently suggesting that a developing area of low pressure could bring increasing chances of rain to the region on Saturday and Sunday. Bad timing….probably…..a good thing…absolutely!
